CALL FOR PAPERS

The National Institute for Research and Development in Mine Safety and Protection to Explosion – INSEMEX Petroșani is pleased to announce the 12th International Symposium on Occupational Health and Safety – SESAM 2025, to be held in Brașov, Romania, on October 23rd, 2025.

Organized with the support and collaboration of the University of Petroșani, in partnership with the Romanian Mining Employers' Association – PATROMIN, under the auspices of the National Authority for Research and the patronage of the Academy of Technical Sciences of Romania – ASTR, SESAM has consistently provided a significant international platform for researchers, industry experts, academics, and professionals.

This event serves as an ideal opportunity to present and discuss innovative research, technological advancements, and best practices related to occupational health and safety, particularly in contexts closely connected to environmental management, energy engineering, sustainable development, and natural resource management.

The symposium fosters interdisciplinary dialogue, addressing both technological-scientific and socio-economic dimensions essential for sustainable development and effective risk management in industries dealing with potentially explosive, toxic, or flammable atmospheres.

TOPICS

Authors are invited to submit original research papers in the following thematic areas:

1. Environmental Protection, Solutions to Prevent, to Diminish and to Fight against Pollution

2. Equipment Intended for Use in Potentially Explosive Atmospheres

3. Explosives for Civil Use and Pyrotechnical Articles

4. Occupational and Organizational Psychology and Sociology

5. Occupational Risk and Technological Risk for Industries with Explosive and/or Toxic Atmospheres

6. Rescue and Intervention Activities in Industries with Potentially Explosive and/or Toxic Atmospheres

7. Ventilation Management, Mine Closure & Protection of Mineral Resource Deposits

60 of the best accepted and presented research articles will be selected after the event and submitted for open-access publication in a volume of MATEC Web of Conferences, which is indexed in major international databases.

Submitted articles must strictly adhere to the formatting and content requirements specified in the SESAM 2025 Paper Template. Special attention must be paid to the References section.

LOCATION

The Symposium will be held in Brașov, Romania at the Aro Palace Hotel.

LANGUAGES

The official languages of the symposium are Romanian and English.

Presenters must develop the slideshow presentations (PowerPoint) only in English.
